The True Christian Life

What have those who knew their God intimately said about the true Christian life? Read on.

Christians should be troublemakers, creators of uncertainty, agents of a dimension incompatible with society.” ~ Jacques Ellul

Jesus didn’t come just to save us from problems we have, but from the problem we are.” ~ Myron S. Augsburger

Sometimes when I listen to people who say they have lost their faith, I am far less surprised than they expect. If their view of God is what they say, then it is only surprising that they did not reject it much earlier.” ~ Os Guinness

The Christian life is nothing less than the life which He lived then . . . lived now by Him in you.” ~ W. Ian Thomas

In the process of replacing the old religions, Christianity became a religion.” ~ Alexander Schmemann

I choose to look at people through God, using God as my glasses, colored with His love for them.” ~ Frank Laubach

A man who is intimate with God will never be intimidated by men.” ~ Leonard Ravenhill

Much of modern Christian enterprise is Ishmael. Born not of God but of an inordinate desire to do God’s will in our own way.” ~ Oswald Chambers

  1. Perfectly shared, Tim! Each quote speaks volumes to me. Excellent choices, my friend. My devotion today shared, “I want you to be all mine. I am weaning you from other dependencies. Your security rests in ME alone…” I’m so glad I got out of his way so HE could do HIS will. And I’ve learned the hard way! God bless you huge, my friend. And give our best to Rascal, too. It’s so good to see you sharing the faith, truth, and good and wise words! Let’s press on! Karla and Finley

    1. So many great quotes on living in Jesus and He in us. So little time!

I very much appreciate your strides in a true New Covenant faith, Karla. I also greatly appreciate you steady encouragement. Thank you.

God bless you and the Finster a lot this week!

      1. Amen, Tim! I’ve been reading in Acts this morning, my friend. So little time to spread the Jesus Movement~and then, to grow our wisdom and communion ~I better make another cup of coffee! I’ve got work to do! 🤭 Praise God! Admittedly, I wear down fast in the days~but I’m given many opportunities to not waste! God bless you and keep you (both) May his face shine upon you and be gracious to you! Nature is doing some warming up and showing signs of healing just like I am, Tim!

    1. Thank you for your comment, Matthew. Many who have gone before us and many more who are still with us have much to say to us about what it is to walk by the Spirit. These people challenge me every time I read their words. I am glad they help you and others as well. God bless!
