One Pursuit is about pursuing the only passion that resonates with our true self – the pursuit of our God. There is no pursuit that will bring life to us as will knowing, loving, and having an intimate relationship with the God of the universe. This is what it means to pursue our highest purpose, to live our best life. Only this pursuit will satisfy the deepest and most fundamental longings of our hearts. Only this will be what finally brings fullness and completion to us as individuals.
This is not about being “religious.” It is not about the institutional church as it is normally found in North America. The institutional church (a.k.a. “churchianity) wandered away from this one pursuit centuries ago, substituting human religiosity for a life-giving intimacy with our God. While there are true seekers living this one pursuit in the institutional church, the man-made religion itself has missed the narrow path of this one pursuit.
This one pursuit is about experiencing the perfect love and intimate fellowship our God offers to us all, and finding life as we were meant to experience it. It is about a true union with God Himself, a transformational indwelling by His Holy Spirit that fill all our being to overflowing fullness.
The pursuit of God – the one pursuit worthy of our full attention – is a journey, not a destination. It is a sojourn in wilderness that is at once beautiful and challenging, comforting and dangerous (hence the wilderness pictures on this site). It is the one adventure that will top all other adventures, the one with which your heart will resonate.
The message to the readers visitors to this website is this: Seek Him while He may be found. Call upon Him while He is near to you, seeking you every day. Pursue intimate union with Him with all your being.
I write about this because this is my one pursuit. It has been the adventure of a lifetime. I am a follower of Jesus Christ, imperfect but committed to the pursuit that I began in my high school years.
